2008 Jazz Celebration
filled with stars and sun. This was a show not to be missed and
if you were here for the festivities, thanks for your participation
and for your record attendance on Sunday. The new dates for Telluride
Jazz were a blinding success with three sun-filled days and starry nights
of live performances at Telluride Town Park and numerous night venues.
We want to know what thought of the festival.
Let us know and you could win two tickets to next year's Telluride Jazz
Celebration.Fill out the survey!
2008 Highlights:
The names that topped the buzz list this year were the Neville
Brothers, Dr. John, and Simone and they did not disappoint. Other
performances not to be missed: Maceo Parker, Joe Lovano, Grupo
Fantasma (they sold the most CD's at the Jazz Store), Les McCann
and Javon Jackson, the Dave Liebman Group, and Son Como Son. The
Crescent Super Band wowed the audience with sounds much more mature
and polished than their young years. And we were equally impressed
by the Chico Jazz XPress and the Telluride Student Jazz All-Stars
(what talent!!!) Chuscales' flamenco guitar was a hit along with
the soulful sounds of Detroit diva Bettye LaVette. And Maelstrom
Trio took us out there! Remember you can still check out this
year's artists on our website at telluridejazz.org.
Thanks again for being a part of Telluride Jazz
and if you didn't fill out the survey at Town Park, we will be
posting it online this summer. There will be a drawing in November
and the winner will receive two Weekend All Access passes to the
2009 Telluride Jazz Celebration, June 4-7, 2009.
